Women Who Care meeting Tuesday.
#WomenWhoCareofOceanaCounty
BENONA TOWNSHIP — Beginning its seventh season, the Women Who Care of Oceana County will meet June 5 from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at the Stony Lake Inn, 4722 Scenic Drive.
The group numbers some 150 members, who together have contributed a total of some $280,500 to 21 Oceana area nonprofits since their first meeting in June of 2012.
“We are always adding new members,” said Amy LaBarge, one of the founding members. “Some joined after attending a meeting as an observer, so we encourage anyone interested to be with us on June 5.”
On the first Tuesday of March, June, September and December, the women meet for an hour, learn about three worthy causes serving Oceana residents, and choose one that everyone agrees to support with $100 personal checks. Socializing follows for those who have the time to stay. If one can’t make a meeting, they still pledge to write a $100 check payable to the organization selected by the group.
