HART — Do you care about abused or neglected children in our community? Are you capable of making a commitment to a child and advocate for them as they work their way through the courts and social service agencies? If so, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Oceana, a program of The Fountain Hill Center, is looking for you.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are trained volunteers appointed by the judge to represent the best interest of child(ren) in the court system due to abuse or neglect. A child with a CASA is more likely to succeed in school, less likely to reenter foster care, and will most likely reach permanency sooner.
Volunteer training starts soon. Contact Emily for more information via email at oceanacountycasa@gmail.com; by phone at 616-796-4658; or find Oceana County CASA on Facebook.
