HART — Over 90 students graduated from the Hart Police Department’s TEAM (Teaching, Educating And Mentoring) resource program at Hart Middle School last week.
Guest speaker for graduation was Sgt. Tony Slocum of the Indiana State Police.
The TEAM program has instructed students for the past 11 years and has been instrumental in providing safety classes to middle school students.
“It unites educators, law enforcement and students in preventing crime,” said instructor Sgt. Kevin Skipski.
The TEAM program is funded through an annual golf outing which is held at various golf courses in Oceana County.
“The Hart Police Department would like to thank Sgt. Slocum, the Hart Middle School staff, parents, Superintendent (Mark) Platt and Principal (Kevin) Ackley for being such huge supporters of our school resource program,” said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.
