HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Bobby Joe Jolly, 55, of 7964 Juniper Beach Rd., Mears, pleaded “no contest” March 26 to attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced April 23 to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; one year of discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; must continue mental health counseling; and a $75 fine. One count of domestic violence and one count of arson of personal property less than $200 were dismissed.

– Richard Ralph Felt II, 26, of 8130 W. Garfield Ave., Bitely, was found guilty April 2 of malicious destruction of personal property less than $200 and was sentenced April 23 to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; no contact with the victim; and $825 in fines, costs and restitution. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Kevin Allen White was found guilty April 23 of marijuana possession and was sentenced to three days in jail; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; six months probation; credit for time served if imposed; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $540 in fines and costs.

– Richard Fernadez, 29, of 1855 S. 44th St., Shelby, was found guilty April 23 of disorderly person – drunk and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed and $400 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) was dismissed.

– Noe Torres, Jr., 20, of 425 S. Water St., Hart, was found guilty April 18 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Robert William Novak, 55, of 3505 Algonquin Dr., Norton Shores, was found guilty April 18 of fishing on a closed trout stream and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $215 in fines and costs.

– Hunter Victor McDonald, 20, of 950 Bowline Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty April 17 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Bethanee Marie Burns, 26, of 136 N. Elm St., Hesperia, was found guilty April 18 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail over the next year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Steven Bradley Cook, 58, of 1534 Porter Rd., Norton Shores, was found guilty April 18 of fishing on a closed trout stream and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $215 in fines and costs.

– Justin Allen Miller, 31, of 22160 22 Mile Rd., Paris, Michigan, was found guilty April 18 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

– Michael H. Fuller, 75, of 95 Hilltop Dr., Hart, one count of DWLS was dismissed April 17.

– Matthew Michael Sarber, 30, of 2725 E. Forrest, Rothbury, one count of assault and battery was dismissed April 24.
