FORT MYERS, Fla. — Ada Kajtazi, 52, of Pentwater was shot and killed in a Denny’s restaurant parking lot last week by an 83-year-old man who also shot himself and died, according to news reports in Florida.
The murder-suicide occurred Wednesday, April 11, at 9:30 a.m.
Ronald Huffman shot and killed Kajtazi, and then shot himself. Huffman was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
It is not immediately known if there was a relationship between Huffman and Kajtazi.
Kajtazi was an artisan jeweler who owned Jewels By The Sea in Pentwater. She was a 1983 graduate of Mason County Central High School, according to her obituary.
She had a daughter, Katie Lombardi, of Grand Rapids and a son, Shane Kajtazi, of Colorado Springs. Colorado.
A “celebration of life” is scheduled for Friday, April 20, at 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. Family will greet friends at 5 p.m.
