HART — A 41-year-old Muskegon man was cited for failure to yield following last Thursday afternoon’s three-vehicle crash on Polk Road in front of the McDonald’s restaurant, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.

The man was westbound on Polk Road in a Ford 150 pickup truck that rear-ended a dump truck, which then caused the dump truck to push into the back of a bucket truck with a wood chipper, Salazar said.

The man, who was transported by Oceana County EMS to Mercy Health Hackley Campus in Muskegon, was one of two people injured in the crash. Also injured was a 23-year-old Shelby man who was transported to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby.

Both received non-life-threatening injuries, Salazar said.

Traffic was snarled on Polk Road as emergency crews from the Hart Police Department, the Hart post of the Michigan State Police, Oceana County EMS and the Hart Area Fire Department, responded to the scene.
