OTTO TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an animal cruelty case reported in the 7000 block of Forest Glenn Drive Friday, March 23, at approximately 6 p.m.
“Two abandoned dogs were inside an abandoned house,” said Lt. Shane Hasty. The dogs were turned over to Oceana County Animal Control.

– 11:56 a.m., (OCSO), assist Hart Police Department with warrant arrests, South Griswold Street, City of Hart.
– 11:41 p.m., (OCSO), a 34-year-old Hart man was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear and an outstanding warrant issued by the Whitehall Police Department, East Taylor Road, Elbridge Township.

– 3:42 a.m., (OCSO), a 45-year-old Mears man was arrested for assault and battery and disorderly conduct, North 72nd Avenue, Hart Township.
– 12:30 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 75-year-old Hart man was cited for driving while license incense suspended, Longbridge Road near Wintergreen Road, Pentwater Township.
– 12:30 p.m., (MSP), trespassing, under investigation, 5000 block of Longbridge Road, Pentwater Township.
– 5:42 p.m., (OCSO), a 31-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for operating while the influence of drugs and on an outstanding warrant, 192nd Avenue, Newfield Township.
Sunday, March 25, 2018:
– 1 a.m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Shelby man was arrested for no operator’s license, Michigan Avenue near Third Street, Village of Shelby.
– 1:54 p.m., (OCSO), a 51-year-old Hesperia man was arrested in Newaygo County by the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the county line, where he was transferred to Oceana deputies and lodged in the Oceana County Jail on an outstanding warrant.
– 11:41 p.m., (OCSO), a 20-year-old Spring Lake woman was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol; a 21-year-old Norton Shores man was arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor; and a 20-year-old Norton Shores man was arrested for operating without insurance, 192 Avenue, Greenwood Township. The first two suspects were passengers in the third suspect’s vehicle.
Monday, March 26, 2018:
– 8 a.m., (MSP), trespassing, under investigation, 2000 block of Wilke Road, Grant Township.
– 3:30 p.m., (MSP), a 21-year-old Rothbuty man was cited for operating without insurance, Cleveland Road near 90th Avenue, Grant Township.
