NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 64-year-old Hesperia man and his passenger, a 74-year-old Hesperia woman, were injured following a two-vehicle crash Sunday, March 18, at 11:37 a.m. on M 20 near Riverview Drive.
The 2008 Dodge Nitro the man was driving collided with a 2014 Honda Accord driven by a 63-year-old Hesperia woman, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
“Driver of (the Accord) advised she was slowing to turn south onto South Riverview Drive,” states the report narrative. “Driver of (the Accord) stated as she began to turn left, her vehicle was struck on the left side by (the Nitro). Driver of (the Nitro) advised he was behind a line of traffic with an implement of husbandry at the lead traveling west.”
“Implement of husbandry” is an agricultural vehicle, according to the state motor vehicle code.
“Driver of (the Nitro) advised he pulled into the eastbound lane and began to pass. (He) advised he passed one vehicle and upon overtaking the second vehicle (the Accord), it turned into his vehicle causing him to leave the roadway and overturn.”
The report states that the male driver was treated by Oceana EMS, but no one was transported by ambulance to the hospital, the report states.
All three people involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts.
