78th District Court sentencings posted March 9, 2018.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Beth Marie Sellers, 52, of 2911 S. Oceana Dr., Shelby, was found guilty March 5 of embezzlement $200-$1,000 and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; $2,200 in restitution; and $420 in fines and costs.

– James Richard Lee Bowler, 23, of 2510 Meadow Lane, Rothbury, was found guilty March 1 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Melissa Ann Peoples, 22, of 336 N. 144th Ave., Hart, was found guilty of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and one count of unlawful license plate were dismissed.

– Matias Mendez, 47, of 3559 132nd Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty March 1 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed.

– Garth John Leslie, 30, of 288 Ferry St., Shelby, was found guilty March 5 of malicious use of telecommunications services and was sentenced to six months discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; no contact with victim; and $535 in fines and costs.

– Morgan Renee Worth, 37, of 916 N. 34th Ave., Mears, was found guilty March 5 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; must complete Victim Impact Panel (VIP); outpatient counseling; subject to random testing; and $1,055 in fines, costs and restitution. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Larry Allen Conkle, 62, of 9477 W. 12 Mile Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty Feb. 28 of unlawful license plates and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for the next one year and $125 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense DWLS and one count of operating without insurance were dismissed.

– Nathan Norman-Michael Fairchild, 24, of 8128 E. Yonker Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty March 5 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; Alcohol Highway Safety Eduation (AHSE); VIP; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction report able to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated and one count of open intoxicants were dismissed.

– Ernesto Eugene Rodriguez, 27, of 235 Sessions Rd., Shelby, was found guilty March 5 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; AHSE; VIP; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– David Kortman, 27, of 2580 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty March 5 of embezzlement less than $200 and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; $900 restitution; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of embezzlement $200-$1,000 was dismissed.

– Daniel Ryan Hendricks, 20, of 64 S. Cook St., Hesperia, was found guilty March 5 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence was dismissed.

– Christopher Lee Merriman, 38, of 4427 N. 176th Ave., Walkerville, pleaded “no contest” Feb. 27 to domestic violence and was sentenced to six months probation; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $975 in fines and costs. A second count of domestic violence was dismissed.

– Brian Alan Vining, 37, of 7967 Engelhurst Ct., Jenison, was found guilty March 5 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; VIP; outpatient treatment; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated with an occupant under age 16 was dismissed.

– DaPree Lenard Edwards, 30, of 2657 Roberts St., Muskegon, was found guilty March 1 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of using a forged/false/altered ID and one count of second-offense DWLS were dismissed.

– Brian Keith Luskin, 49, of 8531 Nevins Rd., Greenville, was found guilty March 5 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; VIP; outpatient treatment; no alcohol/drugs; continue with pain management program; and $940 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
