HART — The following proceedings recently occurred in 78th District Court:

Sentencings

– Gerard Louis Nasser, 58, of 6111 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 26 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; must complete substance abuse recommendation; and $1,055 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Alisha Anne Boucher, 31, of 6975 S. 116th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty Feb. 20 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $410 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS dismissed.

– Omar David Chavez, 20, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 26 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of. DWLS was dismissed.

– Joshua David Tanis, 26, of 219 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 20 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Richard Arthur Guy, 54, of 263 Churchill, Norton Shores, was found guilty Feb. 20 of attempted DWLS and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed.

– Lucus Lamar Bekkering, 23, of 9117 Fox St., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 20 of attempted failure to comply with sex offender registration duties and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; $400 in fines and costs.

– Lucas William Rood, 27, of 3031 W. McKinley Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty Feb. 26 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Deborah Jean Millard, 38, of 5873 Hoyt Ave., Pentwater, was found guilty Jan. 29 of embezzlement $200 or more and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; $2,400 in restitution; and $440 in fines and costs.

– Pete Gover Rodriguez, 47, of 3890 S. 56th Ave., New Era, was found guilty Feb. 26 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; AHSE; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Michael H. Fuller, 75, of 95 Hilltop Dr., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 26 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; outpatient treatment; and $1,155 in fines and costs. One count of open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Deana Rae Evans, 29, of 8323 E. Loop Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 26 of disorderly person – drunk. If no other problems, defendant can withdraw plea Aug. 27, 2018 through a delayed sentence.

– Esteban Galicia-Mejia, 36, of 62 Ellis St., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 20 of operating without a license and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of failure to report an accident was dismissed.

– Bruce Raymond Franklin, 54, of 7501 N. 160th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Feb. 23 of taking an over limit of bucks and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for the next year; hunting license suspended for the remainder of the year and the next three years; and $1,535 in fines and costs.

– Gonzalo Alba, 40, of 700. S. 176th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 26 of domestic violence and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; no contact with victim; six months probation; no alcohol/drugs; no assaultive behavior; not to purchase/ possess a firearm; and $925 in fines and costs.

Misdemeanor arraignments

– James Jessie Pennell, 23, of 677 Chandler St., Muskegon; Michigan State Police (MSP); driving while license suspended (DWLS) and no insurance. Pretrial: March 13 at 2:45 p.m. Bail: $1,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Bobby Randall Petty, 55, of 15 Griswold St., Hart; Hart Police Department (HPD); larceny less than $200. Pretrial: March 6 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent.

– Jonathan David Jurecki, 38, of 8180 Holton-Duck Lake Rd., Holton; MSP; second-offense DWLS, unlawful license plate and no insurance. Pretrial: March 6 at 10 a.m. Bail: $1,500/personal.
