Filing deadline for August primary is April 24.

HART — The 2018 primary election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 7, and most candidates in Oceana County must file by April 24, according to Oceana County Clerk Rebecca Griffin.

Positions on the Oceana County ballot include county commissioner seats for all seven districts, which are two-year terms. The probate judge position, which is a six-year term, is up for a vote.

Two road commissioner positions, which are six-year terms, will also be on the ballot. There will also be various township official positions that are partial two-year terms.

The filing deadline for county commissioners, road commissioners and township officials is April 24 at 4 p.m.

The deadline to file ballot proposals is May 15 at 4 p.m., and the deadline to file for precinct delegate positions is May 8 at 4 p.m. The number of delegate positions varies per jurisdiction.

For probate judge, the deadline to file as an incumbent is March 26 at 5 p.m. For non-incumbents, the deadline is April 24 at 4 p.m.
