GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old man from the Mears area and his 30-year-old wife were arrested on warrants by the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) Friday, Feb. 2, and drug charges are pending, said Det./Lt. Andrew Ambrose.
“On Feb. 2, 2018 detectives from SSCENT executed a search warrant in the 5900 block of Deer Road in Oceana County’s Golden Township. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of an amount of suspected methcathinone, a schedule I controlled substance; prescription medication; and suspected marijuana. This is the same home that SSCENT detectives executed a search warrant on in the spring of 2016. Several controlled substances and a firearm were seized from the home in 2016,” Ambrose said.
“The 29-year-old man has been lodged on a parole absconder warrant. His 30-year-old wife was lodged on an outstanding bench warrant. Drug-related charges will be sought on the husband and wife when the investigation is complete.
“SSCENT detectives were assisted with their investigation and search warrant by members of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police Canine Unit and Michigan State Police Hart Post.”
Police are not releasing the suspects’ names until they have been arraigned.
