HART — A 25-year-old Ludington man faces serving up to 10 months in jail after pleading guilty to second-degree home invasion in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 22.

Tyler Joe Brown, of 4545 W. Anthony Rd., was arrested by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office last October for the felony charge. Brown admitted that he broke into a home on Washington Avenue in Colfax Township last June.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon agreed to cap Brown’s jail time at 10 months.

Brown’s attorney, Julie Springstead Waltz, said her client is considering going into the Special Alternative Incarceration (SAI) program or “boot camp.”

Sentencing is set for April 2 at 9 a.m.

The maximum penalty for second-degree home invasion is 15 years in prison.
