Dog shot by rifle survives.

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A dog that was shot by a .22-caliber rifle on West Tahoe Trail Tuesday night, Jan. 16, is recuperating at home, and criminal charges are pending, according to Michigan State Police Sgt. Charles Hockanson of the Hart post.

The gun was confiscated by police, and the case is going to be turned over the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review, Hockanson said.

The incident was reported to police Tuesday at 11:05 p.m.
