78th District Court sentencings posted Dec. 28, 2017.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Derek James Douglas, 24, of 4080 W. Baker Rd., Shelby, pleaded “no contest” Dec. 19 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $450 in fines and costs.

– Ryan William Shepler, 29, of 55 E. Wilke Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty Dec. 19 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $125 in fines and costs.

– Jeffrey Allen Showalter, 55, of 16927 3rd St., Copemish, Michigan, was found guilty Dec. 21 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail over the next year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Steven Curtis Shira, 19, of 2754 S. 162nd Ave., Hesperia, pleaded “no contest” Dec. 19 to indecent exposure and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; and $975 in fines and costs. A second count of indecent exposure was dismissed.

– Michael Benjamin Hansen, 35, of 249 W. North St., Walkerville, was found guilty Dec. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for the next year and $400 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Cordel Miles Korstanje, 21, of 5586 Brunswick Rd., Holton, was found guilty Dec. 21 of selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor and was sentenced to 60 days discretionary jail over the next year and $225 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Carlos Miguel Silva, 31, of 34 Grant St., Shelby, was found guilty Dec. 21 of trespassing and was sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail over the next year and $325 in fines and costs.

– Hillary Hall Atkinson, 31, of 10759 N. Bingham, Bitely, Michigan, was found guilty Dec. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of no operator’s license was dismissed.

– Kalob Kirk Long, 35, of 927 E. M 20, Shelby, was found guilty Dec. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail over the next year and $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
