HART — A 43-year-old Hart man was sentenced in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Dec. 18, to serve nine months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term for a conviction of fourth-degree fleeing a police officer.

Jose Alfredo Villarreal, of 694 E. Thistle Rd., must serve in the Special Alternative Incarceration (SAI) program or “boot camp” following his release from jail.

Villareal, who has been incarcerated in the Oceana County Jail since August, received credit for 133 days served.

“It’s been a long five months, sir, and I just want to get home,” Villreal told Judge Robert D. Springstead. “I just want to apologize for what I did.”

As part of his 18-month probationary term, Villareal is ordered to serve boot camp for 90-120 days.
