HART — A 29-year-old Fremont man who pleaded guilty Monday, Dec. 18, in 27th Circuit Court to ecstasy possession faces serving up to one year in jail.

Zachary Bundy Leslie, of 1456 E. Cuming St., was arrested by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office last month on charges of ecstasy/MDMA possession, heroin possession and cocaine possession, along with a third-offense habitual offender designation.

Leslie has been lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $25,000/cash/surety bond.

He also pleaded guilty Monday to third-offense habitual offender.

Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon said sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-17 months and agreed cap Leslie’s jail time at 12 months.

Leslie has previous convictions in Oceana County of uttering and publishing in 2013 and first-degree home invasion in 2007, stated Judge Robert D. Springstead.

Leslie’s habitual offender status doubled his possible punishments.

Leslie testified Monday that he was in possession of the drugs while he was in a vehicle, because he didn’t want to do drugs in his parents’ house.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 26 at 9 a.m.
