HART — D/Sgt. Kevin Skipski recently secured a $1,000 grant from Shopko for the Hart Police Department’s TEAM (Teaching, Educating and Mentoring) program.
“The City of Hart Police Department is pleased to announce that it has been recently awarded the Shopko Foundation Communities Charitable Grant in the amount of $1,000,” states Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar. “The grant was written and submitted by D/Sgt. Kevin Skipski to assist with the Hart Police Department TEAM Program, that is currently taught to our fifth grade Hart Middle School students.
“The TEAM program has been taught for the past 10 years and has proven to be an effective program in providing safety classes to our local youth. I am extremely proud of our local businesses and how they have reached out to support such a vital and important program. By working together, our community can only become stronger in the way of crime prevention and youth safety,” Chief Salazar said.
