Shelby men arrested in cocaine bust.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Shelby man and a 50-year-old Shelby man were arrested on cocaine delivery charges following a recent drug bust by the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) in the 4000 block of West Baker Road.

Brent Douglas Krauss, 19, of Shelby has been arraigned in 78th District Court on four counts of delivery of cocaine and one count of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, according to Det./Lt. Andrew Ambrose. Rodney Alvin Ramthun, 50, of Shelby has also been arraigned and is charged with delivery of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, manufacturing marijuana 5-45 kilograms, and fourth-offense habitual offender.

Both men are currently lodged in the Oceana County Jail on $25,000 cash/surety bonds.

“On November 7, 2017, detectives from SSCENT executed a search warrant in the 4000 block of West Baker Road in Oceana County’s Shelby Township,” states Ambrose. “During the execution of the search warrant, an amount of suspected cocaine and marijuana were seized from the home, along with an amount of US currency. As a result of the investigation, preceding and following the search warrant, two Oceana men have been arrested and arraigned in the 78th District Court of Hart.

“SSCENT detectives were assisted with their investigation and search warrant by members of the Michigan State Police Canine Unit, Michigan State Police Hart Post, and the Oceana County Sheriff’s (Office).”
