ROTHBURY — A 52-year-old Whitehall woman was transported by Oceana County EMS to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning, Oct. 21, at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Winston Road.
The woman was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox when a 72-year-old Muskegon woman driving a 2006 Pontiac Vibe pulled out in front of her, according to an accident report from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. The 72-year-old woman was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the Equinox, a 63-year-old Whitehall man, was also not hurt.
The Equinox driver told police “she was traveling south on South Michigan Avenue when (the Vibe) pulled out in front of her vehicle. She told police that “she had no time to react and collided with the side of (the Vibe.)”
The other driver told police that “she came to a stop at the intersection of West Winston Road and South Michigan Avenue. She advised she looked both ways and began to proceed through the intersection when struck by (the Equinox.)” The woman told police that she did not see the Equinox until entering the intersection.
All three people involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts, the accident report states. Airbags deployed in the Equinox, but not the Vibe.
The report did not indicate if the Vibe driver was cited.
