78th District Court sentencings posted Oct. 20, 2017.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Brian Christopher Ford, 44, of 602 S. State St., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 16 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders’ credit for time served if imposed; must show that he is following up with Community Mental Health; and $1,200 in fines, costs and restitution. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Kevin Wayne Smith, 36, of 191 E, Bogue St., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 28 of larceny $200-$1,000 and was sentenced Oct. 16 to 14 days in jail with credit for 14 days served; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders’ credit for time served if imposed; and $600 in fines and costs.

– Isaac Robert Gill, 29, of 360 W. Main St., Walkerville, was found guilty Oct. 10 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Scott Everette Couturier, 36, of 5727 Cherokee Bend Trail, New Era, was found guilty Oct. 16 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders’ credit for time served if imposed; and $250 in fines and costs. One count of malicious destruction of property was dismissed.

– Michael Anthony Harter, 27, of 716 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Oct. 16 of marijuana use and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders’ credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of marijuana possession was dismissed.

– Matthew Ryan Walicki, 23, of 9098 N. 80th Ave., Pentwater, was found guilty Oct. 12 of failure to report an accident and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail over the next one year and $325 in fines and costs. One count of failure to stop at the scene of a non-injury accident dismissed.

– Ashley Paula Thomas, 28, of 8030 W. Lumberjack Dr., Mears, was found guilty Oct. 16 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders’ credit for time served if imposed; and $460 in fines and costs. One count of embezzlement less than $200 was dismissed.

Dismissal

– Armando Escobedo, 55, of 315 El Gato Rd., Alamo, Texas, one count of driving without a license was dismissed because “the citation was written in error,” his court file states.
