NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Fruitport Police Department on an arson and car theft investigation, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
“The arson was called in as a car on fire,” said Mast. It was reported Sunday, Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. at 194th Avenue and Garfield Road near Hesperia.
“When our deputy arrived, they found a stolen car from the Fruitport area had been lit on fire in the Taylor Bridge parking lot,” Mast said. The car was a 2008 Chevy Impala.
If anyone has any information, they are asked to call the sheriff’s office at 231-873-2121.
