COLFAX TOWNSHIP — A 2-year-old pit bull/lab mix was shot with an arrow Tuesday, Oct. 3, on East Madison Road, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

Fortunately, the arrow did not hit any major organs or the spinal cord, and the dog is expected to fully recover, Mast said.

The dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, resulting in $500 in vet bills for the owner.

The arrow went in the dog’s right shoulder and exited out its left side, Mast said.

The animal cruelty case is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at 231-873-2121.
