HART – District Health Department #10 (DHD#10) is helping the community prepare for the 2017-2018 flu season by offering flu vaccines to children, adults and seniors.
Flu season is unpredictable – even healthy people can become seriously ill. The best way to protect you and your family against influenza is to get an annual flu vaccine, and the time to do so is now.
DHD#10 flu clinics in Oceana County include:
- Sep. 27, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Oceana County Council on Aging, 621 E. Main St., Hart. Walk-in.
- Oct. 3, 9-11 a.m., Pentwater Friendship Center, 310 N Rush St., Pentwater. Walk-in.
- Oct. 10, 9-11 a.m., St. Vincent’s Catholic Church of Pentwater, 637 6th St., Pentwater. Walk-in.
- Oct. 10, 2-4 p.m., Walkerville Wesleyan Church, 144 176th Ave., Walkerville. Walk-in.
- Oct. 17, 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m., DHD#10, 3986 N. Oceana Dr. Hart. By appointment or walk-in.
Many health insurance plans now cover the cost of flu vaccines. If not, DHD#10 may be able to help through Vaccines for Children (VFC) or other programs. DHD#10 will bill Medicare Part B, Medicare Health Plans, Medicaid, Medicaid Health Plans, Healthy MI Plans, Priority Health, BC/BS, Blue Care Network, McLaren and Consumers Mutual with an insurance card present at the time of appointment. It is important to be aware of your insurance benefit rules.
The cost for the seasonal flu vaccination without insurance is $38. High dose and preservative-free flu shots are available for $41.
