HART — A 39-year-old Hart man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly assaulting and imprisoning his male roommate, according to Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Alonso Rosas, of 315 Courtland St., was arrested Aug. 25 by the Hart Police Department for felonies of felonious assault, with a pistol; unlawful imprisonment; and felony firearm; and misdemeanors of malicious destruction of property, an iPhone; and receiving and concealing stolen property less than $200, a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, according to 78th District Court records.

The incident occurred at 3:56 a.m. in the 300 block of Courtland Street, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.

“He was held, we believe, long enough to meet the elements of the (imprisonment) offense, which would include any amount of time the person wished to leave,” Bizon said. “Injuries were present but minor, not requiring medical treatment.”

“We believe alcohol consumption was factor in the incident,” the prosecutor said.

Rosas was lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $15,000/cash/surety bond.

A preliminary conference in 78th District Court is set for Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 3 p.m.
