ELBRIDGE TOWNSHIP — The occupants of a home in the 2400 block of East Filmore Road narrowly survived a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning, Aug. 27, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“No one was injured or killed,” Mast said. However, “the bullets entered the home very close to where the occupants were sleeping.”

The occupants awakened to gunfire and quickly called 911. The call was dispatched at 5:24 a.m.

Police are seeking a male suspect in his 20s from the Walkerville area, Mast said.

“We received several shell casings and bits of trace evidence,” the sheriff said. Bullets from possibly two different guns entered the home through the siding. “We believe there may have been two guns, one of which was a rifle or possibly a semi-automatic.”

No other information was immediately available as the case is under investigation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at 231-873-2121.
