Fremont man injured in motorcycle/deer crash.

GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP — A 49-year-old Fremont was transported by ambulance to an area hospital Wednesday, Aug. 2, at approximately 9 p.m. after he crashed into a deer with his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle on East Garfield Road near the South 200th Avenue, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
“The driver was traveling upon East Garfield Road near South 200th Avenue on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle,” the report states. “A deer emerged onto the roadway and the driver was unable to avoid a collision with the deer. The driver braked hard causing the bike to skid and lose control. The motorcycle was laid down on the pavement and skidded on its side into a ditch on the north side of the roadway. The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.”
