Armed suspect robs New Era Wesco.

NEW ERA — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the New Era Wesco early Wednesday morning, July 19.
“This morning at 2:31 a.m. the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Michigan State Police from the Hart post, were dispatched to the New Era Wesco at 4667 S. 1st. St. in New Era for an armed robbery,” stated Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. “There, deputies learned that an armed suspect had entered the store and demanded cash. After obtaining cash, the suspect fled from the store on foot.
“Mason County Sheriff’s K-9 came to the scene to assist, although no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is still underway. More information will be given out when it becomes available,” Mast stated.
