PENTWATER — A young bear has been spotted again in Pentwater, this time on Jackson Road, heading north, according to the Pentwater Police Department.
“The Pentwater Police Department received a report this morning of a young bear approximately 125-150 pounds on Jackson Road moving north,” states PPD’s Facebook page Tuesday, June 27.
“This is most likely the same bear that was sighted recently walking east of Pentwater. The department wants to take this opportunity to remind everyone not to attempt to make contact with the bear. Do not feed the bear.
“Year-round residents are asked to make sure to pass onto summer visitors these same cautions. In the event that you do sight the bear, remember he is probably more scared of humans than you may be of him.
“Local law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation and will work with Michigan Department of Natural Resources if the situation changes.”
A bear was spotted earlier this month in the village.
