HART — A husband and wife face jail terms after each pleading to a felony of a illegal use of a financial transaction device, or debit card, in 27th Circuit Court Monday, June 19.
Kenneth Roscoe Robbins, 36, and Ariel Jennifer Robbins, 27, were both arrested by the Hart Police Department and charged with illegal sale/use of a financial transaction device and stealing/retaining a financial transaction device without consent.
Kenneth Robbins pleaded guilty to the first count, and Ariel Robbins pleaded “no contest.”
As part of the plea agreement, Kenneth Robbins’ jail time will be capped at four and a half months, which is the midpoint of the 0-9 month sentencing guidelines in his case, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. Ariel Robbins’ jail time will be capped at 30 days. The couple will also be ordered to pay $241 in restitution.
The crime occurred in February of 2017 in the City of Hart, Kenneth Robbins testified.
Both are set to appear for sentencing Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. They are both free on bond.
