HART — The Oceana County Road Commission, its employees, staff and board of commissioners have organized the first OCRC public open house set for Thursday, June 8, from noon to 4 p.m.
The outdoor event will take place at the Hart office at 3501 W. Polk Rd.
“We encourage the public to attend this free event,” stated OCRC Board Member Bob Carr. “This is a family-friendly event. Children are welcome.”
Free grilled hotdogs, chips, lemonade and water will be provided.
“We will be showcasing our trucks and heavy equipment. Several employees, staff and commissioners will be on hand. This is your chance to see up-close our new equipment and their operators; a chance also to meet our new manager Mark Timmer. The board of commissioners is proud of the progress we are making in the maintenance and care of your roads within the price structure we have to work with,” Carr stated.
The Oceana County sheriff’s weigh master will be there showing the portable weigh scales and handing out literature about that. Also, EMS will have an ambulance there.
“We are happy to announce that Holly Alway from Safe Kids West Michigan led by Mercy Health will be set up for a free car seat check from noon to 3 p.m.” Carr said. “A limited number of car seats and booster seats will be available on a first needed, first served basis. Some of our vendors will be on hand also.”
