SHELBY — The Village of Shelby is planning another day of water distribution Sunday, May 21, from noon to 6 p.m. at the DPW garage.

The distribution will be done “in the same fashion as the past two days as it has worked very well,” states a press release from the village. “Please be sure to follow the directions we have been posting. Also, village residents are allowed to pick up water each day that we distribute. Thank you to our residents, who have been very understanding as we work through this problem.”

“The DEQ was on site, evaluating the situation today and will have recommendations for us next week so that we develop a corrective plan of action.”

Pick up instructions: village residents in need of bottled water are to enter Sixth Street from the State Street crossing heading west toward the DPW garage. Water will be distributed by this approach ONLY, to keep orderly fashion to better serve our residents. Residents are to have their proof of residency at time of pickup. We are asking that you remain in your vehicle and follow our path of cones. After collecting water, vehicles are required to continue west on Sixth Street. There will be no u-turns permitted upon exit. Eastbound traffic is CLOSED from Industrial Drive to Dewy Street to ensure the safety of everyone.
