SHELBY — Ice Mountain has donated a limited amount of water for distribution to village residents under the precautionary water boil advisory.
Distribution will take place Thursday, May 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at the DPW garage located at 88 W. Sixth St.
“Village residents in need of bottled water are to enter Sixth Street from the State Street crossing heading west toward the DPW garage,” states a press release from the village. “Water will be distributed by this approach only, to keep orderly fashion to better serve our residents. After collecting water, please continue west on Sixth Street. There will be no u-turns permitted or eastbound traffic to ensure the safety of everyone.
“Residents must provide proof of residency to receive their water. Please know that due to the prohibited length of time, we are trying to ration our current donation to the best of our ability. Administration is working to locate additional resources of bottled water during this time.
“The village may need help with water distribution tomorrow. If you are interested and available, please contact Crystal Lewandowski at 231-861-4400.”
