PENTWATER — The Pentwater Sportfishing Association is hosting the 33rd Annual Memorial Weekend Fishing Derby, May 27-29.

This event is the largest amateur fishing derby on Michigan’s West shore and brings fishing teams from around the area to have fun and compete for prizes.

The three-day event ends Monday, May 29, with the awards ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Pentwater Village Marina Gazebo.

Teams must register before fishing, with sign-up at the marina gazebo Friday, May 26, from 4-8 p.m. Last year, 52 teams enjoyed prizes worth over $4,700.
