Man arrested for selling heroin, crack to undercover officers.

HART — A 21-year-old Muskegon Heights man was arraigned in 78th District Court Tuesday, May 9, on numerous drug charges after he allegedly sold heroin and crack cocaine to narcotics officers, according to State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team Det./Lt. Andrew Ambrose.
Ricky Darnell Smith, who is currently lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $50,000/cash/surety bond, faces felony charges of possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl/heroin; possession with the intent to deliver cocaine; delivery of fentanyl/heroin; and delivery of cocaine. The charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison, Ambrose said.
“SSCENT detectives initiated an investigation into Smith in April of this year,” the detective said. “During the investigation, detectives were able to purchase an amount of suspected fentanyl/heroin and suspected crack cocaine from Smith. On (Monday) May 8, Smith was arrested without incident by members of the Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team and Canine Unit. The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off of Polk Road in Hart.”
