HART — The following were sentenced recently in 27th Circuit Court:
– Joshua Michael Flanery, 23, of 64 S. Michigan Ave., Shelby, pleaded “no contest” March 13 to assault with a weapon/felonious assault and was sentenced April 24 to serve one year and one day to four years in prison with credit for 90 days served in jail and $400 in fines and costs. “Defendant is eligible for SAI (Special Alternative Incarceration) program (“boot camp”). The court does not object to placement in the program. The court will leave to the discretion of the MDOC (Michigan Department of Corrections) no contact (with the victim) currently in place,” his court file states. One count of assault by strangulation was dismissed.
– Steffon Jamal Jackson, 28, of 1346 E. Madison Rd., Hart, was found guilty April 24 of attempted resisting/obstructing/assaulting a police officer and was sentenced to serve seven days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for five days served in jail and $400 in fines and costs. One count of resisting/obstructing/assaulting a police officer was dismissed.
