MEARS — A soup and sandwich supper at the Mears United Methodist Church, April 12, netted $4,916 toward establishing a K-9 unit at the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

“On behalf of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, thank you to the United Methodist Church of Mears for hosting a soup and sandwich benefit supper on April 12 and also to the many community members who attended and contributed to our K-9 start-up fund,” said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. “Donations were received totaling $4,916.”

“Through your help, we can and will achieve this goal and bring a K-9 back to Oceana County,” Mast said.
