Deputy Strait retires after 52-year career.

HART — Oceana County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Strait retired April 1, after serving the citizens of Oceana County for 22 years and nine months. Strait had a 52-year career in law enforcement.

“Deputy Strait was an integral part in our youth programs for numerous years and served as a community liaison teaching CPR, first aid and numerous other programs over the years,” stated Undersheriff Ryan Schiller.

Strait received recognition for his many years of service at the Oceana County Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday, April 13.

“Sheriff Craig Mast and the staff wish Roy well in his retirement.”
