MEARS — A 25-year-old Mears woman was seriously injured Friday evening in a single vehicle crash near the intersection of 56th Avenue and 7th Street. According to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place at about 11:20 p.m.

Amber Rae Davis, of 5756 W. Third Street, was traveling in a southbound 2006 Chevrolet car  on North 56th Avenue when she lost control and struck a couple of trees, breaking them at the base, according to the sheriff’s office crash report. The vehicle rolled several times as well and ended up on its top.

She was transported by ambulance to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. Her passenger, Richard James Davis, of the same address, was not seriously injured.

The report stated that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
