GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — An intruder or intruders broke into several storage units at the Silver Lake Mini Storage over the weekend, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The break-in, which is currently under investigation, was reported Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3:24 p.m.

The following is other recent police activity:

Friday, Jan. 20, 2017:

– 8:11 a.m., (Hart Police Department), alarm activation, Dollar General, State Street, City of Hart.

– 11:19 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), suspicious situation, 3900 block of West Woodrow Road, Shelby Township.

– 12:10 p.m., (OCSO), vehicle crash, no injuries, 3800 block of West Polk Road, Hart Township.

– 2:12 p.m., (OCSO), alarm, 1800 block of West M 20, Shelby Township.

– 7 p.m., (OCSO), fugitive arrest, a 19-year-old Shelby man turned himself in at the Oceana County Jail.

– 7:38 p.m., (OCSO), shots fired, East Shelby Road, Ferry Township. The area was checked, but deputies were unable to locate subject.

– 11:03 p.m., (OCSO), a 39-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS) and a 35-year-old Hesperia man was arrested on outstanding warrants, South Division Street, Village of Hesperia.

Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017:

– 4:24 a.m., (OCSO), a 23-year-old Hart man arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI), Wren Road, Benona Township.

– 6:29 a.m., (OCSO), suspicious vehicle, Rothbury rest area, Grant Township.

– 9:45 a.m., (OCSO), reckless driver, Third Street, Village of Shelby.

– 6:14 p.m., (OCSO), suspicious activity, dented car door, 6800 block of West Webster Road.

– 7:02 p.m., (OCSO), vehicle crash, no injuries, Madison Road near North 192nd Avenue, Colfax Township.

– 7:30 p.m., (HPD), vehicle crash involving a minor injury, McDonald’s parking lot, Polk Road. A person felt dizzy following the crash and was examined by Oceana County EMS at the scene.

– 7:42 p.m., (OCSO), car/deer crash, East M 20, Shelby Township.

– 8:26 p.m., (OCSO), alarm, 600 block of North 22nd Avenue, Golden Township.

– 8:51 p.m., (OCSO), suspicious activity, 1000 block of Sand Creek Trail, Otto Township.

– 10:01 p.m., (Michigan State Police and OCSO), a 51-year-old Mears woman was arrested for domestic assault 1800 block of North 56th Avenue, Golden Township.

– 11:42 p.m., (OCSO), an 18-year-old Shelby man was cited for a registration violation and no insurance, 132nd Avenue and Garfield Road, Ferry Township.

January 22, 2017

– 1:03 a.m., (HPD), a 20-year-old Hart man was arrested for OWI and minor in possession of alcohol (MIP), 104th Avenue and Monroe Road, Weare Township. The motorist was first observed on Oceana Drive in the City of Hart, and officers stopped him in Weare Township. OCSO gave HPD permission to handle the arrest, said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.

– 2:15 a.m., (OCSO), a 30-year-old Hart man arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, 2500 block of South 192nd Avenue, Newfield Township.

– 5:59 a.m., (OCSO), a warrant is being sought for a 23-year-old Shelby man suspected of aggravated domestic assault, 100 block of South Michigan Avenue, Village of Shelby.

– 9:52 p.m., (OCSO), a 42-year-old Hart man arrested on warrants issued in Ottawa County, 3200 block of North 72nd Avenue, Hart Township.

Monday, Jan. 23, 2017:

– 12:04 a.m., (HPD), a 26-year-old Hart man was arrested for disorderly person, Dave’s Party Store parking lot, Wood and Union streets, City of Hart. The suspect was highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance, said Salazar.

– 8:50 a.m., (OCSO), car/deer crash, Oceana Drive, Hart Township.
