Police dispatched to ‘suspicious flying object.’
GRANT TOWNSHIP — A “suspicious flying object” was observed in the 2400 block of Whitetail Drive Saturday, Jan. 14, at 8:53 p.m.
“It was likely a star in sky,” said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The following is other recent Oceana County Sheriff’s Office activity:
Friday, Jan. 13, 2017:
– 7:23 a.m., attempt to locate subject walking on US 31 and M 20, Shelby Township. Subject was gone.
– 9:30 a.m., larceny from vending machines at the Rothbury rest area. Approximately $100 in change missing.
– 11:01 a.m., a 57-year-old Scottville man arrested in 78th District Court for a traffic warrant.
– 11:19 a.m., attempt to locate, 900 block of North Wilson Road, Golden Township. Subject was found.
– 2:09 p.m., wellbeing check, 200 block of South 66th Avenue, Shelby Township.
– 4:42 p.m., assist Hart Police Department, 300 block of South State Street.
– 5:50 p.m., unwanted subject, 7100 block of South Clearwater Court, Grant Township. Suspect left.
– 8:17 p.m., a 28-year-old Hart man arrested on a warrant and a charge of resisting arrest, 1300 block of East Madison Road, Crystal Township.
Saturday, Jan 14, 2017:
– 1:19 a.m., attempt to locate, 900 block of North Wilson Road, Golden Township. All was well.
– 11:17 a.m., a 29-year-old Rothbury woman was arrested on a Kent County warrant, East Forrest Street, Rothbury.
– 3:01 p.m., a 44-year-old Holton man arrested on a traffic warrant at the Newaygo County Jail.
– 4:47 p.m., gas drive-off at the Pentwater Convenience Center, Weare Township. Deputies contacted vehicle owner, and the person returned and paid the $31 that he or she owed.
– 6:52 p.m., suspicious situation, 7000 block of North Oceana Drive. No problem found.
– 7:30 p.m., car/deer crash, US 31, Grant Township.
Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017:
– 1:52 a.m., assist Shelby Police Department with a warrant arrest, Shelby Village.
– 3:05 a.m., shots fired, 3200 block of East Skeels Road, Otto Township. Venue was in Muskegon County.
– 10:03 a.m., car/deer crash, West Monroe Road, Pentwater Township.
– 10:59 a.m., a 21-year-old Rothbury man was suspected of possessing marijuana, M 20 and 112th Avenue, Shelby Township.
– 11:21 a.m., trespassing in Sect 16 of Claybanks Twp.
– 5:15 p.m., a 19-year-old Shelby man arrested for minor possession of alcohol (MIP), US 31, Weare Township.
Monday, Jan. 16, 2017:
– Midnight, malicious use of a telecommunications device, 7000 block of Surf Court, Rothbury. A 37-year-old Rothbury man is a suspect.
– 7:33 a.m., car/deer crash, M 20, Ferry Township.
– 7:40 a.m., car/deer crash, M 20, Ferry Township.
– 9:16 a.m., malicious destruction of property (MDOP), East Thistle Road, Crystal Township. A 2004 Chevy Trailblazer’s window was broken.
– 5:27 p.m., motorist assist, South 54th Avenue, Benona Township.
– 6:15 p.m., fraud, 2500 block of West Shelby Road, Shelby Township. Fraudulent activity on an E-bay account.
– 8:12 p.m., non-injury vehicle crash, 700 block of East Park Road, Otto Township.
– 10:24 p.m., verbal domestic dispute, 2500 block of Meadow Drive, Rothbury
Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017:
– 6:01 a.m., minor injury crash, 116th Avenue, Otto Township. Under investigation.
