Mears man hurt when SUV slides off slushy road.

HART TOWNSHIP — A 59-year-old Mears man injured his back after the 2008 Ford Edge Crossover SUV he was driving slid off slush-covered West Tyler Road near North 104th Avenue Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 10.

According to the accident report from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, the man was westbound when he “lost control of his vehicle on the slushy road; spun out of control; crossed the center line; ran off the roadway; impacted a steep ditch; and injured his back.”

The man was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for what appeared to be a minor injury following the 3:18 p.m. crash, according to the report. His passenger, an 18-year-old Hart man, was not injured.

Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seat belts.
