78th District Court sentencings, dismissals.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Morgan James Pearson, 19, of 160 S. East St., Walkerville, was found guilty Dec. 21 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of reckless driving was dismissed Dec. 21 in a plea agreement.

– Frank Murry Hovey, 42, of 1021 E. Adams Rd., Hart, was found guilty Jan. 3 of recreational trespassing and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $335 in fines and costs.

– Julian Tienda, Jr., 32, of 5753 Fox Rd., Mears, was found guilty Dec. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without security/no insurance was dismissed.

– Alfredo Garcia, 41, of 430 Harvey St., Shelby, was found guilty Dec. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of improper plates was dismissed.

– Scott Russell Parsons, 40, of 2209 Madison Rd., Hart, was found guilty Jan. 3 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Eugenia Louise Riggs, 46, of 418 Union St., Apt. 5, Hart, was found guilty Jan. 3 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Randy Alan VanDerZanden, 47, of 86 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Jan. 3 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of improper plates was dismissed.

Dismissals

– Jason Dean Roerink, 38, of 16115 Williams St., Lansing, one count of check – non sufficient fund (NSF) $100 or less was dismissed Dec. 12. “Defendant has made check good with Hansen’s,” his court file states.

– Conrad River Rodriguez, 29, of 4049 W. Tyler Rd., Hart, one count of breaking and entering – illegal entry was dismissed June 30, 2016 without prejudice.

– Anthony Wayne Stark, 34, of 381 W. Grand Ave., Muskegon, one count of disorderly conduct was dismissed Dec. 21.

– Michael Lloyd Genther, 31, of 614 Hillcrest Rd., Paw Paw, one count of taking an over-limit of bucks was dismissed Dec. 28 without prejudice.

– Jason David Tanner, 42, of 361 S. 56th Ave., Mears, one count of possession of an “anterless” deer without a valid license was dismissed Dec. 28 without prejudice.

– Antonio Contreras, 42, of 5686 Leona Dr., Muskegon, one count of snagging salmon was dismissed Jan. 3 without prejudice.

*”Without prejudice” does not bar the prosecution from refiling charges within the application limitations period.
