MONTAGUE — Eagle Towing is serving as a designated driver this New Year’s weekend and throughout 2017 by offering free rides and tows to partiers through a program called, Operation Guardian Angel.

Operations Manager Andrew Heykoop said the goal is to reduce deaths and injury accidents in the area.

Eagle Towing serves an area from Shelby south to northern Muskegon County. The company is offering rides to those who have had too much to drink.

The intent is to get both the revelers and their vehicles home safely. They will drive you home and tow your car.

Heykoop said he hopes the service saves lives. Sadly, most often the innocent people are the ones killed or injured in drunk driving crashes, he said. The area that Eagle serves endured several drunk driving deaths and injuries in 2015.

Operation Guardian Angel will run all year long in 2017 with the assistance of Bad Boy Bail Bonds.

Eagle Towing can be reached at 231-894-5424.
