HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Dennis W. Szczepaniak, 59, of 8558 S. Kilbourn Ave., Chicago, was found guilty Dec. 15 of operating an ORV while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; ORV license suspended six months; and $600 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) was dismissed.

– Michael Eugene Thue, 35, of 8276 Barney Rd., Traverse City, was found guilty Oct. 31 of controlled substance use and was sentenced Dec. 12 to and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of analogues possession was dismissed.

– Alexandra Ann Greiner, 29, of 1370 Monroe Rd., Hart, was found guilty Dec. 19 of escaping lawful custody and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; outpatient treatment; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of harboring misdemeanants was dismissed.

– Morgan James Pearson, 19, of 160 S. East St., Walkerville, was found guilty Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 (in two separate files) of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS was dismissed in a separate file, and one count of reckless driving was also dismissed.

– Brandon Leon Salazar, 19, of 35 Sessions Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 23 of probation violation for marijuana possession. He was sentenced Dec. 19 to 15 days in jail, and his probation was extended through June of 2017.

– Augustin Hernandez-Bautista, 32, of 1923 Tyler Rd., Hart, was found guilty Dec. 19 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; $1,155 in fines and costs; and Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE). Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating with a high BAC and one count of DWLS were dismissed.

– Cruz Maria Martinez, 49, of 2463 Whitetail Drive, Rothbury, was found guilty Dec. 19 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $450 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Albert Davis, 29, of 285 S. Lakeview Dr., White Cloud, was found guilty Dec. 19 of narcotic/cocaine use and was sentenced to four months in jail to run concurrently to current jail term; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and a $75 fine.

– Morgan Renee Worth, 35, of 916 N. 34th Ave., Mears, was found guilty Dec. 19 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs.

– Efrain Francisco-Cristobal, 29, of 252 Dennis St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 19 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; AHSE and $1,155 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license not valid was dismissed.

– Maria Picon, 27, of 2919 E. Scout Rd., Hart, was found guilty Dec. 21 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Alfredo Garcia, 41, of 430 Harvey St., Shelby, was found guilty Dec. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of improper plates was dismissed.

– Julian Tienda, Jr., 32, of 5753 Fox Rd., Mears, was found guilty Dec. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

Dismissals

– Larry Lee Helman, 69, of 3001 N. 166th Ave., Walkerville, one count of assault and battery was dismissed “on the motion of the court without prejudice. Defendant acted in self defense.”

– Saul Castro-Alvarado, 19, of 581 S. Oceana Dr., Shelby, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed “without prejudice.”
