ROTHBURY — A 70-year-old Montague woman and a 30-year-old man received minor injuries in a two-vehicle rollover crash Sunday, Nov. 13, shortly before noon at the intersection of Winston Road and Michigan Avenue.
The woman, who was driving a Ford Free Star minivan westbound on Winston Road, pulled out in front of a northbound Chrysler PT Cruiser on Michigan Avenue, causing the PT Cruiser to strike the minivan broadside, said Michigan State Police Trooper Scott Shattuck. The minivan rolled onto its side after it was struck.
The woman, who was wearing her seatbelt, was pinned inside the minivan, Shattuck said. Rescue personnel quickly removed her from the vehicle, and she was up walking around after the crash. The minivan’s airbag deployed, he said.
The hometown of the PT Cruiser driver was not immediately known. Both drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles, and it is believed the man was also wearing a seatbelt.
Both drivers were privately transported to the hospital, the trooper said. The woman was cited for failure to yield.
Assisting at the 11:45 a.m. crash were Oceana County EMS, the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Grant Township Fire Department and Grant Township Rescue. The Shelby-Benona Fire Department Jaws of Life was also dispatched.
