Pickup truck rolls several times, ejecting driver.

HART TOWNSHIP — A 58-year-old Bitely man received minor injuries after being ejected from the 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup truck he was driving Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8, on West Tyler Road near North 88th Avenue, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

“Driver of vehicle #1 said he was traveling west on Tyler Road when he swerved to miss a light-colored passenger vehicle traveling eastbound that was drifting into his lane,” states the report. “Driver #1 said he went off the roadway; came back on the roadway; lost control; and overcorrected, going off the roadway again losing control and rolling over several times. Witness #1 said she saw the accident and witnessed Driver #1 being ejected from vehicle. Driver ambulatory after crash and refused EMS. Driver was going to self-transport to Spectrum Health Gerber with family.”

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the 3:01 p.m. crash, the report states. The man was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report, but was ejected.
