Thieves steal steaks from grocery store.

HART — The Hart Police Department is investigating two separate incidents of shoplifters stealing steaks from Hansen Foods on Polk Road.

The first incident Sept. 22 involved the theft of several steaks valued at over $200 total, said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar. Steaks totaling $56 were stolen the second time Sept. 28, he said.

Both cases remain under investigation.

Friday, Sept. 23, 2016:

  • 4:44 p.m., (Hart Police Department), larceny from a building, $250 in cash was stolen from a residence, 100 block of Lincoln Street, Hart. The case is under investigation.
  • 7:15 p.m., (HPD), malicious destruction of property, tire slashed at Secretary of State Office parking lot, Polk Road, Hart.

Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016:

  • 7:02 p.m., (HPD), assault and battery, 400 block of Hart Street, Hart. Report sent to Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office.

Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016:

  • 11 a.m., (HPD), credit card fraud/illegal use of a financial transaction device, occurred at five different locations Sept. 26-28 in Hart. The case is under investigation.
  • 5:02 p.m., (HPD), assault and battery involving two juveniles, playground by Hart City Hall. One subject was checked by EMS at the scene. The report has been submitted to the prosecutor’s office.

Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016:

  • 5:45 p.m., (HPD), one-car crash, no injuries, BP gas station, Hart. The front sign was struck.

Friday, Sept. 30, 2016:

  • 11:45 p.m., (HPD), a 27-year-old Hart man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and no operator’s license, State and Main streets, Hart.

Monday, Oct. 3, 2016:

  • 4 p.m., (Michigan State Police, Hart post), a 45-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for assault, 3000 block of North 120th Avenue, Elbridge Township.
  • 5:17 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, 176th Avenue and Vanburen Road, Colfax Township.
  • 6:51 p.m., (HPD), an 11-year-old boy was bitten on his lower leg and back by a dog, 200 block of Courtland Street, Hart. The boy was treated and released by Oceana EMS, but was later privately transported to the hospital for further treatment. The breed of the dog was not immediately available. The case was turned over the Oceana County Animal Control.
