Suspect wearing clown mask chases car.

HART — The nationwide trend of people dressed as creepy clowns committing crimes has hit locally.

The Hart Police Department received a complaint Monday, Oct. 3, at 11:44 p.m. of a person wearing a clown mask chasing after a female who was driving a vehicle on Courtland Street near Johnson Street, said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar. The person in the clown mask ran out into the street and began to chase the vehicle, but the motorist drove away. Police officers checked the area, but found no suspects, Salazar said. It is unknown if the suspect is male or female.

The suspect could face charges of disorderly/disturbing the peace and wearing a mask or face covering during the commission of a crime, the chief said.
