Proper send-off for Old Glory.

SHELBY — Post 30 of the Shelby American Legion, along with local scouts, pay tribute to the disposal of the American Flag.

The ceremony is done annually in October to properly dispose of the flag when old flags are worn out. The program started with a Pledge of Allegiance and was followed by a discussion of why the flags are burned.
